The town and its inhabitants

 
Safe city		 The quality and variety of the life of inhabitants are influenced in a significant way by the presence of numerous institutions, offices, associations and organizations including outside government and public benefit organizations.
The pastoral care in the town is taken by four Roman-Catholic parishes. The oldest one is the Blessed Virgin Mary Assumption parish in which work nuns from St. Theresa from the Baby Jesus Congregation.
In the territory of the town there were also set up the following parishes:  Christ the Good Shepherd, St. Jozafat civil-military Parish in Komorowo and the Divine Providence Parish. Well developed medical care is provided by: Independent Public Complex of Primary Care Trusts, ‘Zdrowie’ Private Primary Care Trust, dialysis station, private specialist doctor surgeries and a number of pharmacies. 
 
Public transport		 The Poviat Hospital is equipped with modern medical equipment is one of the leading hospitals in mazowieckie province.  It is also the winner of “Market Leader 2008” as the best Poviat Hospital in Poland taking into consideration the quality of medical services. Moreover the inhabitants are provided with support and help of: Municipal Assistance Center within the scope of which function the following institutions:  
 
Modern equipment in the Ostrow hospital		  Environmental Mutual Assistance Home, Psychological-Pedagogic Clinic, Poviat Family Assistance Center and Voluntaries and Social Integration Center.
We belong to towns with own public transport and we are a member of the Polish Chamber of Public Transport.
Thanks to cooperation between the local authorities and the Police as well as installation of monitoring system we are one of the safest towns in Mazowsze.
